I Loved Hilter

If you would like to have a unique, behind-the-scenes view of how theatre works, this is certainly a must. I Loved Hitler is a dramatic reading of a new play by Ton Vorstenbosch and Kiek Houthuijsen. The work of these two authors is a guarantee for substance, but also for levity and humour. The writing duo appears on stage themselves, accompanied every evening by an alternating group of three first-class actors, including in the role of Hitler: Pierre Bokma, Bill van Dijk, Cees Geel, Kees Hulst, Frank Lammers, Peer Mascini, Titus Muizelaar, Han Römer and Helmert Woudenberg.

I Loved Hitler is the second part of the Trilogy of Delusion: three new Dutch theatre pieces about three women and their misguided faith in Nazism.
This piece revolves around the relationship between Winifred Wagner and Adolf Hitler. What was it that fascinated this woman so about the leading man of the Nazis? How could she continue to deny, for as long as she lived, that he was responsible for one of the greatest and most heinous crimes of the last century? It is a tragicomic piece in which we see two sides of Hitler: his true form - the one we all know of - but also as Winifred saw him: a romantic and charming Austrian, a man with a mission.
